In short, yes! Let me explain.

First of all, it is a niche dating platform for Filipino singles and those of us who may be drawn to people of Filipino heritage. If you, like me, happen to be attracted to Filipino women, there is no shortage of beauties on this site.

The site has a list of quality features, several of which you are given free access to. It’s a great way to test the site before committing to a paid membership. And as stated before, it’s run by the Cupid Media Network, which immediately tells me this is a trustworthy, quality dating site.

Sign-Up Process

Sign-Up for FIlipinoCupid com is simple.

Of course, you’ll be asked for your name and email and to create a password. After this basic info, you’ll be prompted to upload a profile photo. There is no need to verify your email address.

One great site feature is the ability to verify your profile by connecting to your Facebook account. Once this is done, your profile photos will automatically be pulled from Facebook to your Filipino Cupid profile.

Once your sign-in information is saved, it’s time to fill out your profile. Unsurprisingly, you’ll be asked for basic information, such as your name, location, age, and what, or really, who, you are looking for.

You will then be able to provide a headline for your profile and a summary of yourself.

The profile pages provide fields that allow you to give specific information about yourself, including your physical features and religion. The more information you provide, the more accurate your site matches will be.

In total, it takes around ten minutes to fill out your profile - pretty painless.

This site is easy on the eyes with simple and pleasant red and white theme colors. The interface is very clean and user-friendly, so easy to navigate.

The “Matches” tab displays a selection of potential matches. The list is made by pulling profiles that share similar interests or match specific information shared on your profile.

User Account & Profile Quality

The profile templates on this site are designed to give standard but detailed information to help us get to know one another. Some of the information commonly shared on profiles are “express’ answers. That’s to say that they are pre-formed answers that you can choose from. These include responses to cover hobbies, daily habits, and personal outlooks on life.

The quick answers work fine, but I would rather see more shared information written by the girls themselves.

When viewing profiles, information that matches your own or what you shared that you are searching for is highlighted in green. A different FilipinoCupid review I read said that this is one of the site's strongest features, and I agree. It’s nice to click into a profile and have an instant indication of our similarities. It helps save a lot of time.

This feature is extended to highlighting bits of information on a profile that does not meet your expectations in red, such as preferred age range, height, etc.

As mentioned before, members have access to the “Matches” tab. This feature does a lot of the work for you, and it’s nice to log in and be able to browse profiles that meet my criteria.

Arguably the main site feature is the impressive user base and the advanced search and matchmaking algorithms created to filter through it.

The site includes features such as one that allows you to see who has visited their profile, instant chat, and the ability to translate messages into other languages (English, Tagalog, Cebuano, etc.)

There’s also a mobile app. It’s basic but handy. I personally enjoy the quick chat access to keep conversations going.

So, is Filipino Cupid free?

Some of it is.

Registration to the site is free, as is access to certain features. Some free features include basic matchmaking, sending likes, creating a list of favorites, and viewing online status’.

But if you want access to more comprehensive features that help make your search easier and more enjoyable, you’ll have to pay for a membership. Paid membership features include live chat, sending and receiving unlimited messages, expanding your profile space, and message translation, just to name a few.

The Filipino Cupid cost of membership is split into three tiers; Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Each membership has four different lengths of membership subscriptions to choose from; 1 week, three months, or 12 months. As with most subscriptions, the longer you commit to the membership, the more money you save.

Gold and Platinum memberships give access to features like live chat and sending unlimited messages. Diamond membership allows you to head search pages, remove all ads, and use the translation service on messages.

Security & Anti-Scam

The site is protected with SSL encryption technology, and true to Cupid Media standards, profiles are consistently checked for suspicious activity.

The site utilizes an algorithm to comb through correspondence. But don’t worry, nobody is reading your messages. The algorithm is put in place to search for correspondence that features money transfer requests. If this is detected, the correspondence will be automatically tracked, and the Filipino Cupid team will contact the person requesting the money.

I’m a fan of FilipinoCupid. It is a secure and well-operated dating site with a lot of active members, many of them gorgeous Filipino women.

One of the biggest complaints about the site that I found on other FilipinoCuoid.com reviews was the site's auto-generated emails to members. I agree that this is an annoying feature, but common practice and can be blocked.

The free features allow you to get good use out of the site and it is my belief that this is a sign of legitimacy.

During my time on this site, I found some very promising matches in my area and started exchanging with a handful of women that met exactly what I was looking for.
